Conneaut, OH, (July 23, 2013): The FASTRAK Northeast Touring Series will return to Raceway 7 this Friday night with $1200 set for the winner of the Evergreen Lake Park Campground FASTRAK Late Model feature. When the tour visited in June it was local star Dave Airgood leading the way at the conclusion of the event for his first-ever tour win. It won’t be easy going for Airgood to repeat as Max Blair is expected to be looking for the win as well as points leader Chad Wright. Young Breyton Santee also made it known last week that he will be a threat as he out-dueled Blair to get his first-ever feature win in an upset victory. WV’s Joel Prosser is also expected to return to the fast 3/8 mile oval. Blair currently leads the Northeast Tour by 43 points over Prosser. Behind Wright in the local standings are Kyle Zimmerman and Jamie Brown.
The other classes of racing will see regular racing which should be hot and heavy with season winding down and the point’s battles heating up with the hot summer days.
Joel Watson leads the pack in his defense of the Bonnell Collision Center E-Mods championship title. Mike Potosky trails by 46 points, then its another 56 points back to Dan McDonald.
Chris Withers, with four feature wins this season, is dominating the Western Reserve Animal Clinic Street Stocks action and holds a 71 point lead over Ed Bolyard, a past champion. Young Darrin Hyde, who led much of last week’s feature, is currently second, another 64 markers back.
Veteran driver Chuck Steinle Sr leads the McDonald’s Meats Economods points race with an extremely slim 3 point edge over three time winner Brian Hathaway. Early season points leader Russ Kapalan, after suffering a series of misfortune, is currently third, 21-points out of second.
The Specialty Products Mini Stocks are being led by Brad Cole, a two-time winner thus far in 2013, by a margin of just a single point over rookie contender Dale Fraschetti, still without a feature win this season. Defending champion Bud Sergeff currently is third, 39 points behind Fraschetti.
